OneMain Financial/Achieving the Dream Scholarship

The OneMain Financial Completion Scholarship Program is designed to assist students in overcoming unanticipated financial barriers preventing the completion of a student’s first college credential while enrolled in community college. This scholarship is intended for students who are close to completion, defined as having earned more than 60 percent of credits toward the certificate or degree.

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in credit-bearing certificate or associate degree programs.  Both full-time and part-time students are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must have completed 60 percent or more of credit-bearing coursework toward their first certificate or associate degree prior to the semester in which the scholarship is awarded, excluding summers (i.e., in a 60-hour program, students who have completed 36 credits or more by the conclusion of spring 2016 are eligible to apply for fall 2016 funding).
  • Applicants must be in good academic standing, as defined by the college.
  • Applicants must not have previously earned a certificate or degree.
  • Applicants must not be employed full-time.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need through a narrative statement.

 

The Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation "4 for 4" Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of the scholarship fund is to reward academic excellence and encourage students to pursue technical education.  

  • Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time (12 semester hours or more) student in a credit program of study.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum grade point average of  2.6 (based on a four-point system) or incoming graduates must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a financial need.
  • Preference will be given, but not limited, to prior participants in the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation program for high school students.

The purpose of the scholarship fund is to reward academic excellence and encourage students to pursue a degree in Design and Media Technology.  

  • Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time (12 semester hours or more) student in a credit program of study.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum grade point average of  2.6 (based on a four-point system) or incoming graduates must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a financial need.
  • Preference will be given, but not limited, to students pursuing a degree in Design & Media Technology and prior participants in the Hank Aaron Chasing the Dream Foundation program for high school students.

Atlanta Technical College BMW Student Scholarship

The purpose of the BMW scholarship fund is to reward academic excellence and encourage students to pursue an automotive technician career with BMW.

  • Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time (12 hours or more) student in the automotive program seeking a career opportunity with BMW. Applicants must be in their program of study for at least two (2) semesters, and must have taken AUT 120, AUT 122, and AUT 124 prior to making application for the scholarship
  • Applicants must posses a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (based on a four-point system)
  • Applicants must apply for financial aid within the college. If awarded, the scholarship will supplement any financial aid a student receives.

  • Programs Include: All Programs
  • Applicant must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average (GPA)

 

The Brenda Watts Jones Memorial Foundation Student Scholarship

The purpose of The Brenda Watts Jones Memorial Foundation Student Scholarship Fund is to reward academic excellence and encourage students to pursue technical education in the following areas: Aircraft Mechanic, Emergency Medical Technician, Database Administrator, Practical Nursing, Pharmacy, Diesel Mechanic, Hotel Manager, Dental Lab Technician, Graphic Designer, Health Information Technician, Firefighter, Paralegal, Plumber, Marketing Manager, Heating & Air Technician, Dental Assistant, Drafter, and Medical Assistant.

Additionally, the following categories of students are urged to apply:

  • Current or prospective students who are employed and seek to enhance their professional credentials or license; and
  • Single students (male or female) with children.
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade average.

 

Dr. Brenda Watts Jones Allied Health Scholarship

The purposed of this scholarship is to financially assist students who are enrolled in an "Allied Health" program. Programs include but are not limited to - Bioscience Technology, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Dental Laboratory Technology, Healthcare Science, Health Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing, Physical Therapy Assistant, Radiologic Technology, and Surgical Technology.

  • Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 credit hours or more)
  • The student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher

 

"Moving Forward No Matter What" Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to help "bridge the gap" for students who receive HOPE but are not eligible for PELL.

  • Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credit hours or more)
  • The student shall have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher
  • 1 scholarship will be given to a male student and 1 scholarship will be given to a female student
  • The student will complete an essay of no more than 500 words describing how they personify the spirit of “Moving Forward, No Matter What."

 

The American Building Supply, Inc. Student Scholarship

The purpose of the AMERICAN BUILDING SUPPLY, INC. (ABS) scholarship fund is to reward academic excellence and/or to financially assist qualified vocational/technical degree candidates enrolled in the Carpentry Program.

  • Programs Include: The Carpentry Diploma Program or The Carpentry Framing Certification Program.
  • Students must be enrolled full-time (12 quarter hours) in the Carpentry Diploma Program or eight quarter hours in the Carpentry Framing Certification Program and must have a 3.0 GPA or higher

Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism Management Student Scholarship Fund

The purpose of The Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism Management Student Scholarship Fund is to reward academic excellence and encourage students to pursue technical education in the Hotel/Tourism Management Program.

  • Program Include: Hotel/Restaurant/Tourism Management
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average.

 

The W.W. Grainger, Inc. Student Scholarship Fund

The purpose of the W. W. Grainger, Inc. scholarship fund is to reward academic excellence and/or to financially assist qualified vocational/technical degree candidates in the Skilled Trades and Technical Skills Division in the pursuit of their degree or certification.

  • Programs Include: electrical systems, engineering, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, welding, automotive, construction, facility maintenance, energy systems, or other technical workforce degree programs.

  • Applicant must possess a grade point average of 3.0 or higher (GPA).
