Digital Illustration Specialist
This certificate program is designed to train students how to draw in a digital workspace for greater manipulation and creative effect. Students will learn Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well basic manual drawing skills. From there, students will learn advanced digital drawing techniques as they apply to marketing and advertising, logo design, and even digital entertainment. Graduates will be prepared for entry level positions in sign and print shops, as well as some corporate firms looking for this specific skill set.

Student Performance/Graduation Requirements:
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Completion of high school diploma or GED and submission of official transcript required to apply.
- Achievement of minimum program admission scores in Reading, English, and Math.
- Transfer of previous post-secondary credits will be determined by the registrar.
Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete all required courses to graduate.

This student success course is designed to transition, connect, and acclimate new students to Atlanta Technical College. The course creates an awareness of various campus resources and holistic skill sets necessary to achieve educational and career success. Through the nurturing of academic, personal, social, occupational, and technological talents, students develop the academic and professional skills necessary to be successful in college and the global community.
This course is an introduction to the creation of vector imagery. Students will learn to draw illustrations, transform objects, work with layers, patterns, brushes, and filters, use effects and create graphics for the various applications. The focus will be on learning the essential tools, basic operation and commands used in the creation of vector graphics used in different media fields.
In the Raster Imaging course, the student becomes acquainted with the concepts and software related raster image manipulation. The student is introduced to the workspace and tools used in an image editing software and will learn basic image editing techniques.
Introduces beginning student to basic drawing techniques. Student will complete drawings using various techniques and media.
This course focuses on the design challenges associated with the development of symbol systems, logos, environmental graphics and information graphics. Students will use their knowledge of vector and raster applications for further study into the use of typographic treatment and graphic images.
Students will learn how to use advance vector imagery techniques for communicating creative concepts in different media fields. They will study a variety of digital illustration styles and begin to develop a personal style of their own.
