Atlanta Technical College’s Early Educational Center will host an Open House August 1 from 8am-noon. The event will give interested parents an opportunity to meet the teachers and staff of the center, which instructs and cares for youth from infancy through Pre-K.
In addition to having a low ratio of students to qualified teachers, the center also boasts a child-friendly playground and arts and crafts learning centers. An extended-day program is also available.
“The program is a child-focused, creative curriculum for children ages three months to five-years-old,” said Dr. Marsha Whittle, center coordinator. “It includes academics, arts and crafts, literacy awareness, group activities, social skills, music and games, as well as indoor and outdoor play. The investment that a parent makes in this program will ensure that the initial building blocks for their child’s educational future are securely in place.”
Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the ATC Early Educational Center has gone beyond regulatory licensing requirements.
“Program accreditation standards represent the highest quality and reflect research-based, best practices in early childhood education,” said Dr. Whittle. “Accreditation publicly confirms that our center meets national or state quality standards. From guidelines for teacher preparation through safety requirements, NAEYC accreditation ensures that programs are safe, well prepared, and intentional about ensuring children’s success.”
