Atiara Brown and Sara Griffin, design and media students, won scholarships at the Black Women Film Network 20th Anniversary Film Summit recently. Other scholarships were presented to students from New York University and Louisiana State University.
Sara Griffin, a digital media student, won for her ability to take creative risks with her projects. She also won first-place for a film created in design and media that helped raise money for the program. Atiara Brown, the second Atlanta Tech scholarship winner, was described by an instructor as “someone with a talent for listening and asking the right questions.”
Scholarship winners were introduced at the 20th Annual Untold Stories Awards luncheon at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in downtown Atlanta. As Black Women Film Network scholarship winners, Brown and Griffin now join the ranks of women who are directors at Tyler Perry Studios, documentarians, and network executives.
