DECA STUDENTS PREPARE FOR STATE COMPETITION

The best and brightest students from the business and public service technologies division at Atlanta Technical College are preparing for the 2012 DECA state career development conference. From February 10 to 12, twenty-five Atlanta Technical College students will join their peers from colleges throughout the state of Georgia in Valdosta for marketing and business competitions.
Students have the opportunity to participate in an array of competitive events including: Advertising Campaign Development, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Restaurant and Food Service Management, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Business Ethics, International Marketing, Web Site Design and Business Law. Winners from the state competition will continue on to the International Development Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, which will be held April 21-24, 2012.
DECA is a career and technical student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Its mission is to teach occupational proficiency and promote understanding and appreciation for the responsibilities of citizenship in our free, competitive enterprise system.
