GALILEO
(Georgia Virtual Library)

GALILEO (Georgia Library Learning Online) databases and Internet access are available on computers in the library, wirelessly on campus and remotely for access to ATC library resources from any computer,anywhere. GALILEO provides users with numerous databases of information, some of which provide full-text articles.

GALILEO is also available through internet Access. Ask at the Circulation desk if needed in the library for instructions or assistance. A password is required for off campus access. You may obtain the password from the circulation desk or via email at library@atlantatech.edu. Flyers are available from the Circulation Desk with additional information about GALILEO. One-on-one tutorial assistance is available upon request.

Library Catalog ON Campus Access

Library Catalog OFF Campus Access

The Library Catalog is automated and easy to use. The catalog is located on the computers in the rear of the library and also accessible via the Internet.

Materials are cataloged using titles, authors,and subjects.
 
To use the catalog, click on the OPAC icon. Once the “Welcome to the Library Catalog” screen opens you can search by keyword or choose one of the other three options: “search”, “browse”, or “combination”.
 
To do a keyword search, type in any word(s) in the space provided and click on search.
 
To search the catalog, select the appropriate search category, click the empty search box, type your search word(s) and click on “search”.
 
To browse the catalog, select the category to be searched, type your browse word(s) or numbers and click on select “search”.
 
To perform a combination search, type your search word(s) next to the appropriate search type, and click the “search button”. You can search one or more categories simultaneously.

Books
The library houses approximately 16,000 volumes in the General and Reference collections. The majority of the books are in the General Collection. These books circulate for two weeks. The reference collection consists of manuals, handbooks, encyclopedias, and dictionaries. Reference books do not circulate. E-books are now available for use within the library and remotely.If you need assistance with accessing E-Books, check with the library staff.

Periodicals
The Atlanta Tech library subscribes to about 200 periodicals. Additionally, through access to more than 100 databases, GALILEO, provides link to hundreds of journals, government documents and other materials. Some journals and government documents have web links to full text of the content.

Hardcopy Periodicals(Magazines, journals, etc...) owned by the library cannot be checked out. They are categorized alphabetically in a special area. The library has both current and back issues of periodicals/magazines to support all programs of study. Listed below are a few examples:
