GED
The GED and the Vocational Training Program started March 3, 2008, and are funded by the
Fulton County Department of Family and Children Services. The GED program services single
mothers between the ages of 18-20 who are TANF recipients and are in need of their GED.
Although the primary focus is GED, the program also provides various skills training such as:
- Life Skills Training
- Job Readiness Training
- Computer Skills Training
- Parenting Skills
- Financial Training
The ultimate goal is for these individuals to complete their GED, become self sufficient and stable providers for their family. As part of the program we have several partnerships that include SISTA, a HIV/AIDS prevention and self esteem class, as well as nutrition classes.
Vocational
The Vocational Training program services single mothers 20 and up who have faced several challenges in the job market.
This program’s primary focus is job readiness and job placement, but like the GED program, vocational training provides these
individuals with the skills that are essential to become self sufficient.
Participants are required to complete this two month program by attending daily workshops and skills training classes that include:
- Life Skills Training
- Job Readiness Training
- Computer Skills Training
- Parenting Skills
- Financial Training
GED and Vocational Training are motivating programs that encourage education and accomplishing goals.
