All salaried, full-time employees who are hired at Atlanta Technical College have a six-month period of probation that commences upon the date of hire. The probationary period shall apply to each appointment, reappointment, promotion and interdepartmental transfer.
The purpose of the probationary period is to allow the new employee to get acclimated to the work environment. During this transitional period, the employee must demonstrate to the satisfaction of the appointing authority, the knowledge, ability, ability, aptitude, and other necessary qualities to perform satisfactorily the duties of the position in which employed.
