Welcome to the Division of Economic Development, where courses are designed to meet the needs of Georgia’s industries. Our team is committed to the growth and vitality of the State’s economy. Our objective is to serve new, expanding and existing industries through training and solutions to the challenges facing Georgia’s businesses, particularly in developing a skilled workforce. We recognize that workforce development and continuing education are best demonstrated by the variety of courses and programs offered through our division.

Our services provide resources for individuals, business, industry, government, and professional groups desiring to supplement their in-house training and workforce development initiatives. The programs offered through this division are fully coordinated with you, the business customer, and flexible to accommodate shift schedules and location. Most programs can be offered at your business location, and convenient to the workforce involved in the training.

Office of Customized and Contract Training

Customized training to fit the needs of business and industry is a large component of the Division of Economic Development focus. Workplace skills, equipment training, safety training, computer training, customer service, team building and much more can be integrated into modules and competencies that allow you to create your own training agenda specific to your company. Customized and Contract Training (CCT) is able to design, to develop, and to deliver.

Office of Continuing Education

The Continuing Education Department’s mission is to develop short courses, workshops, and seminars for professional development and personal enrichment. Certified and experienced instructors are employed to assist in the development and execution of course competences specific to the instructional requests of business and industry. On-site courses are structured and scheduled to meet the needs of the community.

Office of American Heart Association Training Center
Atlanta Technical College is home to one of the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Training Center (TC). The Training Center offers approved (HA) classes such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS). The Training Center also provides National Registry Testing.

Office of Professional Assessment and Certification Center
The mission of the Professional Assessment and Testing Center is to support the educational mission of the College by providing students, faculty and staff, and the community varied, high quality national and local testing opportunities. To this end, the Center promotes and maintains an atmosphere that is conducive to individual and group testing of placement, proficiency, certification and other exams.

Office of Georgia Fatherhood Program
The Georgia Fatherhood Program at Atlanta Technical College provides training and job placement services to unemployed and underemployed parents both male and female. Participants are recruited from key locations in the programs service area, including Atlanta, Fulton, Clayton, Fayette and Henry Counties.

Office of TANF GED Program
The TANF GED Program at Atlanta Technical College provides training, supportive services, and job placement assistance to single parents and displaced homemakers that are TANF recipients (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) in Atlanta and Fulton County. The goal of the program is to help individuals obtain their GED and assist citizens in our services area to move from government assistance to self-sufficiency through gainful employment opportunities.
