SCOPIST TCC PROGRAM

The Scopist is a technical certificate of credit program designed to educate Students in this program will gain the knowledge and skills in the following areas: computer machine shorthand, real time captioning, document processing, medical terminology, law and ethics and English for court reporters. Program graduates receive a Technical Certificate of Credit, which qualifies them to assist court reporters in performing court reporting and captioning functions for courts, county/state legislatures, free lance reporters and captioning functions for industry.

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
* Must be 16 years of age
* Official high school or GED transcript is required to apply
* Achievement of minimum program admission scores in Reading, Language, and Math
* Transfer of previous post secondary credits will be determined by the registrar.
Student Performance/Graduation Requirements: Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and complete all required courses to graduate.
