Atlanta Technical College held its New Student Convocation today. The event is part of the “First 11 Days” celebration for first-time ATC students. Dr. Victoria Seals, president, welcomed students, and Dr. Murray Williams, vice president of academic affairs, encouraged them to take advantage of support services and stay focused.
The purpose of the ceremony is to help students start strong, stay strong, and finish strong. Students are given information on resources that can help them through to graduation and are introduced to key faculty and staff. Student Government Association leaders invite students to join campus organizations that will give them more insight into what it means to grow as a student at Atlanta Technical College.
Chauncy Walker, Student Government Association president, led students in the Affirmation of Integrity. SGA Vice President Sykot Das introduced college advisors for campus organizations. The ceremony finale featured a presentation of Atlanta Tech shirts to all students.
