The Bridge Builder Award was conceived to recognize individual community leaders who have made significant contributions in Atlanta’s underserved communities in an effort to close the so-called Digital Divide. While that term refers generally to the disparity of access to current technology between the mainstream and the underserved, the Atlanta Technical College Foundation recognizes that the issue goes much deeper than that. Any progress made in the provision of access to information, culture or economic development contributes to the narrowing of the gap and is, therefore, recognized with this prestigious award.
