Attorney General Chris Carr convened the Statewide Opioid Task Force at Atlanta Technical College recently. Representatives from various agencies, including the Atlanta Police Department, Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, gave updates on how the growth of addiction has impacted the community and the work force.
“The Technical College System of Georgia is an incredible asset to our state in many ways,” said Attorney General Chris Carr. “Today, the Atlanta Technical College provided vital support to the Office of the Attorney General and our state by hosting the first meeting of the Statewide Opioid Task Force. Conversations had here today will help save lives, and we want to thank Commissioner Gretchen Corbin, President of the Atlanta Technical College Victoria Seals, the event and technical staff at the Atlanta Technical College and all who attended today’s meeting. Together, we can combat opioid abuse in our state.”
