Atlanta Technical College Honors Dr. Jamal‑Harrison Bryant and Mr. Nathaniel Smith at 25th Annual Bridge Builder Awards

Atlanta, GA — March 22nd — Atlanta Technical College (ATC) proudly celebrated the 25th Annual Bridge Builder Awards, honoring two exceptional leaders whose work has transformed communities and expanded access to opportunity across metro Atlanta. This year’s distinguished recipients were Dr. Jamal‑Harrison Bryant, Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, and Mr. Nathaniel Smith, Founder and CEO of the Partnership for Southern Equity.

The Bridge Builder Awards recognize individuals who “build bridges” by connecting people to resources, championing equity, and strengthening the social and economic fabric of the region. As ATC President Dr. Victoria Seals noted, “Our 2026 honorees embody what it means to put greatness into action. Their leadership uplifts communities, advances justice, and opens doors for countless individuals.”

Dr. Bryant was honored for his visionary leadership, social justice advocacy, and commitment to empowering individuals through faith, fellowship, and community engagement. His work at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church continues to create pathways for personal and collective advancement.

Mr. Smith, recipient of the President’s Award, was recognized for his groundbreaking efforts to advance racial equity and economic inclusion. Through the Partnership for Southern Equity, he has championed policies and initiatives that ensure all communities, especially historically marginalized ones to have access to opportunity and a voice in shaping their future.

The ceremony also acknowledged more than 75 past Bridge Builder and President’s Award honorees, celebrating a 25‑year legacy of leaders who have shaped Atlanta’s growth and strengthened its communities.

Held at the Delta Flight Museum, the event featured remarks from Mistress of Ceremonies Monica Kaufman Pearson, inspiring student and faculty testimonials, and a call to support the Atlanta Technical College Foundation, which provides scholarships and essential resources for ATC students.
