Atlanta Technical College Receives $1.5 Million in Federal Funding for New Center for Transportation and Logistics
ATLANTA, GA – March 9th – Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is proud to announce that the Fiscal Year 2026 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) appropriations bill includes $1,500,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending to the Atlanta Technical College Foundation for the Atlanta Technical College, Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL).
This federal investment marks a major milestone in the development of the Center for Transportation and Logistics, a state-of-the-art training facility designed to prepare Georgia’s workforce for high-demand careers in commercial truck driving, diesel technology, logistics, supply chain management, and warehousing. The CTL will dramatically expand ATC’s capacity to serve students and employers across the region, with the ability to educate and train 1,600 students annually and to provide 2,000 Georgians with local access to CDL testing, eliminating the need to travel outside of metro Atlanta.
The Center will be constructed on 25 acres donated by Fulton County, with additional financial support from the State of Georgia, Fulton County, the City of Atlanta, the Truist Foundation, and the Coca‑Cola Foundation.
“This investment represents a transformational step forward for Atlanta Technical College and for the communities we serve,” said Dr. Victoria Seals, President of Atlanta Technical College. “The Center for Transportation and Logistics will open doors to life‑changing careers, strengthen Georgia’s workforce, and expand economic mobility for individuals who have historically lacked access to high‑wage, high‑demand fields. We are deeply grateful for the federal support and for Senator Ossoff’s and Senator Warnock’s advocacy, as it brings us closer to making this vision a reality.”
“Technical colleges and skills training can be the foundation for a comfortable, middle-class standard of living,” Senato Ossoff said. “Senator Warnock and I are pleased to deliver this Federal funding to Atlanta Technical College toward the construction of their Center for Transportation and Logistics, which will help ensure Georgia residents have access to job training programs and strengthen our supply chains.”
“I’ve been focused on strengthening our workforce development pipeline since coming to the Senate. Georgia businesses need skilled workers, and these federal funds will ensure Georgians are ready to take those good-paying jobs,” said Senator Warnock. “Atlanta Technical College is one of our premier institutions, and these funds will go a long way in helping ATC better serve Georgia students. I’m proud to have worked alongside Senator Ossoff to get this done.”
The Center for Transportation and Logistics will serve communities in Metro Atlanta, with a particular focus on expanding opportunity for under‑resourced populations and individuals seeking justice‑involved‑friendly career pathways. The facility will feature advanced training technologies and modern laboratory spaces to support instruction on diesel equipment, logistics systems, and commercial driving.
