Student Accommodations

The Office of Student Services is committed to ensuring equal access to educational opportunities for students with disabilities. We work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to provide reasonable accommodations that support academic success and promote an inclusive learning environment.

Documentation Requirements

While high school IEPs and 504 Plans can provide helpful background information, Atlanta Technical College cannot use these documents alone to determine eligibility for academic accommodations. Students requesting accommodations must provide supporting documentation from an appropriate medical or mental health professional to the Office of Student Services.

Special Populations

Special Populations Services provide personalized support to help students successfully balance their educational, work, and personal commitments. By partnering with the Special Populations Coordinator, students can access resources, receive guidance, and develop strategies that promote academic success, career readiness, and goal attainment.

WIOA / WorkSource Georgia

WorkSource Georgia is the state’s federally funded workforce development system, powered by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Administered by the Technical College System of Georgia, it connects eligible job seekers with career counseling, tuition assistance, and support services to help them secure sustainable employment.

Who Is Eligible?

Adults (18+): Low-income individuals, underemployed workers, or individuals receiving public assistance.
Dislocated Workers: Individuals who have been laid off, received a plant closure notice, or are experiencing long-term unemployment.

Refunds for Title IV recipients are calculated as follows: Number of days completed divided by number of days in semester.

How do I remove a hold on my account?

Registration

When can I register?

You should register as soon as possible to have the best chance of getting into the course(s) you need. Registration dates for each semester are listed on the academic calendar here: https://atlantatech.edu/myatc/calendar.

The deadline to add/drop a course is the third day of the semester. You can view the specific date in the academic calendar (see above).

How do I register for classes?

Go to www.atlantatech.edu which brings you to the Atlanta Technical College homepage
Select “My ATC” at the top of the screen
Select “Banner Web”

- Type in User ID: Username is the first part of your email address. For example, if your email is sjohn@student.atlantatech.edu, then your username is “sjohn”
- Type in Password

Click on “login”
Click on “Student Services and Financial Aid”
Click on “Registration”
Click on “Look Up Classes to Add”
Select the term for which you like to register from the drop-down list (ex. Summer 2020)
Click course subject to access courses from list (ex. Math 1111, you will look for under Mathematics, not the name of your major)
Click “View Sections” next to the name of the course in which you need to register
Review listing of classes to determine what days and times best fit your daily schedule (M = Mondays, T = Tuesdays, W = Wednesdays, R = Thursdays, F = Fridays, S = Saturdays)
Click in the box to the left of the class section to select the course

- If “C” is listed to the left of the course, class is closed and not available to register
- If “SR” is listed to the left of course name, you should click on “Student and Financial Aid” tab
  - Proceed to “Student Records” and “View Holds” tab to determine what additional steps are required to get hold resolved

Click “Register” at the bottom of the page to add selected class to your schedule
Class has now been added to your schedule
Click “Class Search” to return to course subject listing to choose your next class

Once all your classes have been added, view and/or print your schedule

Visit the Atlanta Technical College Bookstore online at https://www.bkstr.com/atlantatechstore and follow the directions below.

Click “Textbooks” link or icon from header
Search your course materials by course and add course materials to your shopping bag
Click “Checkout” and follow the prompts to select your delivery method

You may also bring your course schedule to the bookstore and our staff can assist you.

How do I access my course information online?

How do I apply for accommodations?

What is the difference between in-person, online, and hybrid classes? Is there a way to see if a class if in-person, online or hybrid?

In-person classes require you to come to campus on a set date/time. Online courses are delivered entirely online through Blackboard. Hybrid courses require you to come to campus for a few sessions and complete coursework online. You can think of hybrid courses as a mixture of in-person and online classes.

Your class schedule can tell you if your course is online, hybrid, or in-person. To view your class schedule, log into BannerWeb and click on “Student and Financial Aid” – “Registration” – “View Detailed Schedule” and select the semester you would like to view. When you view your courses, under “schedule type” it will say either “online”, “in-person”, or “hybrid <= 50% distance learning”.

What forms of advising are available to me?

Atlanta Technical College offers advising for enrollment, student success, specific programs, and career success.

We recommend you schedule an appointment with your Student Success Advisor as you begin your journey as they can help with most typical questions and direct you to other resources. You can meet with a Student Success Advisor in-person, virtually, over the phone, or through email.

When should I begin speaking with a program advisor?

For students in the Health Information Management Technology Degree, Health Information Management Coding Diploma, or Competitive Health (Nursing, Dental Hygiene, etc.) programs, you will begin to speak with a program advisor once you have completed prerequisite courses.

Students in all the other programs may begin to speak with a program advisor when they are finishing their first semester of coursework.

What student organizations does ATC offer?

How can I find a job on campus?

ATC offers employment on campus through The Federal Work-Study Program (FWS). This program provides employment for Title IV eligible students who demonstrate financial need and gives students the opportunity to work in different environments.

Positions are available on campus or in a community service position on a part-time basis. Students are paid no less than minimum wage and usually, work up to 20 hours per week.

Funding is limited based on availability by the U.S. Department of Education. If you have been awarded work-study funds, you can find out about open positions by emailing workstudyFA@atlantatech.edu.
